I learned that producing a community even during this project takes a working team. We had many different groups to create this one event. There was fundraising, event logistics, design, social media, and documentation. I was apart of the documentation group so I worked closely with social media. A few challenges I ran into was that if one group was not pulling their weight it affected everyone. For example, I relied on design group to send me updated posters to include in the videos, social media relied on my group to send them content to post. I think that our group did a really good job at creating content for social media to post, especially recap videos. We were constantly recording so we always had content to create. For next years organizers I suggest to go hard on the fundraising and advertising. I feel like this year we did not do enough fundraising and relied a lot on donations. I suggest thinking of creative ways fundraise that not only engages your own team but the whole school. Advertising is key for a successful event and so reaching out the public and not relying on social media too much would be great.
